I’m always so excited to receive my Birchbox each month, and as last month’s was SO lovely that I’ve got pretty high hopes for May’s offerings! This month’s box is entitled ‘For The Dreamers’, and is inspired by – you guessed it – dreams. It promises a ‘dreamy selection of treats’, and 2 lucky subscribers will also win their ‘dream holiday’. (Unfortunately I wasn’t one of them, but I’ve already got two holidays this summer so I couldn’t possibly have fitted another around my hectic schedule… ahem.)
This month, I’ve received…
Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge by Spectrum Collections – This teardrop-shaped makeup sponge is designed to blend product seamlessly into the skin to achieve a flawless finish. I’m an avid fan of my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge that Helen got me for Christmas, but it has probably seen better days now, so I was so pleased to have received this! It’s very similar to the Real Techniques version but without the signature flat edge, so I’m really looking forward to comparing the two. It’s about half the price (and purple!), so we’re already off to a pretty good start!
Staniac in Beauty Queen by theBalm Cosmetics – A two-in-one cheek and lip stain with a tint of raspberry red pigment. My lips tend to be a bit on the dry side and I find that stains really highlight that, so I’ll probably be sticking to using this on my cheeks when I want a more natural glow. I’ve never tried anything from theBalm cosmetics, and one of the things I love about Birchbox is that it introduces me to new brands that I just might fall in love with!
Tao Wai Wang Mild Exfoliating Body Scrub by Rituals – Try saying that after a couple of gin and tonics! Rituals, incidentally, are one of those exact brands I just mentioned that Birchbox introduced me to and that I’m now OBSESSED with. This smells incredible (Rituals scents always seem to last forever), and the gentle exfoliating formula will be a welcome addition to my shower routine.
PK Prep Polishing Balm by Philip Kingsley – I LOVE receiving hair products in my Birchbox, especially anything that will help my bleached ombre sections stay healthy and moisturised. It promises to leave ‘every hair type feeling smooth and conditioned and looking sleek and glossy’ which is quite an impressive claim, so I’m excited to give it a go!
Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet by Caudalie – So this stuff is made from grapes. And it has the word ‘vino’ in the name. So it’s basically wine for my face. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect night cream, and I’m not sure exactly what a ‘face sorbet’ is, but it sounds like it’s going to feel amazing on a warm night after a day in the sun. One for the holiday make up bag, I think!
Coconut Oil by Vita Coco – Everyone has their own favourite way to use coconut oil (and if you don’t yet, you will soon!), and Vita Coco are spreading the oily love (excuse me) with their ‘how will you swear by it?’ promotion. This little sachet of oil is the perfect travel size, and you can visit their website to see tonnes of uses. I personally like using it for facial cleansing and oil pulling (which you can read a very honest post about here), as I find it makes my teeth beautifully white. When I can be bothered to do it, that is.
You can subscribe to Birchbox here for just £12.95 per month, and if you sign up here, we both get points to spend in the shop. Winner winner chicken dinner!
Lots of love,
