Benefit Ka-Brow! Eyebrow Pomade Review

Posted in Beauty by

I know, I know. Another eyebrow product. But what can I say? Brows are my thing!

After my love affair with Benefit’s new Goof Proof brow pencil was ignited, I decided to get my paws on their eyebrow pomade (similar to the infamous Anastasia Beverley Hills Dipbrow pomade which I know, for lots of people, is the holy grail of brow products). I haven’t tried it myself, but have been using the NYX Cosmetics ‘Tame & Frame’ which, whilst being insanely affordable at only £5.50 for a pot, is a bit on the dry side which makes it difficult to get an even coverage.

Benefit’s Ka-Brow! appealed to me because, aside from the fact that I love benefit products in general, it includes a handy little brush hidden in the lid, which I find is the perfect size and shape for creating a precise-yet-natural-looking brow.

The application did take a bit of getting used to, and the first time I wore it, I found myself feeling a little self-conscious that my brows were SUPER black and over-bold. It’s highly pigmented and has a lovely creamy formula which is very different to the NYX pomade, so I’ve had to get used to building up layers of product using little strokes to mimic the growth of my natural hair. I pair it with yet ANOTHER Benefit brow product which I LOVE called ‘gimme brow’, a volumising eyebrow gel which is fantastic for blending, setting, and softening the brow for an effortlessly natural finish. (NB: it can also be used on its own for a SUPER quick brow transformation and is perfect for a subtle ‘no-makeup’ look).

Overall, I am incredibly pleased with Ka-Brow!, and have been reaching for it whenever I have a little more time to spend on my makeup. If you’re in a hurry, or are still gaining confidence in the brow department, I’d probably say that the Goof Proof Brow Pencil is a better choice for you, but I love the variety of looks you can create with Ka-Brow! thanks to its incredibly buildable formula.
