Festive Party Styling

Posted in Style & Interiors by

Is it just me, or is everyone’s Christmas party happening ridiculously early this year?

Mine was on December 7th, which I thought was unheard of, but apparently we’re all so desperate to get battered that most company parties have been and gone by now! Still, I found the PERFECT Christmas party dress, and thankfully it’s versatile enough to be dressed up, dressed down, worn on Christmas day, worn on New Year’s Eve… you get the picture. It’s a bloody great dress.

It’s a t-shirt shaped shift design in a deep charcoal velvet, embroidered with delicate little gold stars and constellations. I’m obsessed with the current zodiac-style galaxy print trend, so I was far too excited when I came across this little beauty. In a world of bodycon dresses and high waisted skinny jeans, this is much more my style; comfy and loose (to allow for a severe food baby), but still perfectly festive with a good helping of shimmer!

I picked it up from the Glamorous range at Topshop, where I literally NEVER shop because a) it’s kind of out of my price range and b) their clothes normally just don’t fit me. I was really impressed with both the size range and pricing of this collection though, as at just £28 it was well within budget!

I paired my new dress with warm copper-toned makeup with deep berry-toned lips (obviously), and finished off the look with a pastel pink blazer-style jacket, copper bag and heeled shearling boots. I’ll be wearing it again on Christmas day, as it’ll be perfect for adding a glamorous edge to my standard ‘lounging-round-with-a-belly-full-of-pigs-in-blankets’ look. A Christmas classic, I’m sure you’ll agree.

What are you doing for your Christmas party this year? Have you decided on an outfit yet? Fill me in!

I haven’t got a Christmas Party to go to this year. I love that t shirt pattern though, it’s beautiful!

      It’s lovely isn’t it!
And that doesn’t matter – maybe you could get something cute to wear on Christmas Day? ☺️

I’m absolutely loving that pattern, it’s so festive! I was going to wear a black playsuit on Christmas (because why not?) but I ended up settling for a long black dress instead. I hope you had a good Christmas! It was quiet at ours, but I loved it 🙂

Ooooh, you can never go wrong with a long black dress! Quiet Christmasses are the best – chilled with no pressure and not too many distant relatives to deal with. Mine was the same, only 5 of us – but I glammed up and cracked this dress out anyway, obvs! xxx
